Transferring something from the DYSON to the CLAXTON
via highline. Or vice-versa.
Another view of the alongside operation, note the "Little Beaver"
logo on the side of the bridge.
Flying the "Homeward Bound Pennant". Underway and bound for
the States in October 1945. The pennant is flown in lieu of tlhe regular

deployment. Pennant length is supposed to one foot for each man
aboard who has been away for a certain length of time.

Pulling away from the alongside operation. Note the movie screen
rigged on the fantail. This would not have been done during war
time conditions and only in port if in a rear area.

The
Claxton is hit by a Kamikaze in Leyte Gulf. November 1, 1944.
